A Football Club they called The Badgers

On a bright and sunny Saturday morning, on 1st July 2001, a group of parents with soccer keen children living in the parish of Leigh gathered, looking to create a footballing outlet for their youngsters. The club’s aim was then, and still is to this day, to enable all it’s members to be able to learn, play, and enjoy football, in a structured and safe environment, no matter what their ability!

Club Ethos

Our club ethos is a written declaration that sets out how we want to run as a club. It needs to be a simple, concise, message that can be understood by players, parents, coaches and officials. The full version of the ethos can be found on the club website, but we ask you:

  • Football

    Football

To provide football to children of all ages and abilities, in a safe and friendly environment.

  • Coaching

    Coaching

To deliver age-appropriate coaching to support long-term player development.

  • Encourage

    Encourage

To encourage all players to try their best and make the most of their individual abilities.

  • Supportive Environment

    Supportive Environment

To offer a challenging but supportive environment where children can learn from their mistakes without undue pressure and anxiety

At the foremost of everything we do at LBBFC is the aim to offer children good fun, exercise and an opportunity to improve their playing ability, all within a safe encouraging environment. Long-term development of children on and off the playing surface, not only as players, but as young people is the cornerstone of the club ethos.
